Physical Education

St. Pius X School believes Physical Education is a crucial part of a student's curriculum.

  • Physical Education occurs once a week for students in kindergarten and grade one and twice a week for students in grades two through eight.  Students are able to wear their PE uniforms on their PE days at all grade levels.
  • Grades kindergarten through four cover locomotor skills such as chasing, fleeing, dodging, dribbling, juggling, balancing, and many other fun activities.  Health lessons will be taught throughout the year that cover nutrition, fitness, and mental health.
  • Grades five through eight play team sports, individual sports, and cooperative games. They develop and practice overall fitness and complete a fitness assessment twice a year.  Students also participate in a health project during the year that may cover nutrition, fitness, mental health, diseases, body systems, or anatomy.
