Mrs. Susan Pruyn has taught at St. Pius X Parish School since 2002. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Kent State University, and earned a degree in Elementary Education from Elmhurst College. In addition, she has middle school endorsements in Language Arts and Social Sciences. Mrs. Pruyn has taught nearly every grade from kindergarten to eighth grade, but most of her career has been teaching middle school Language Arts.  She enjoys music, reading, taking long walks and cooking. She and her husband love to travel to all parts of the globe. She has two children. Her son works and lives in Chicago, while her daughter (a St. Pius graduate) attends DePaul University. Mrs. Pruyn believes that every child comes to school with a spark, and her mission is to ignite that spark into a fire of lifelong learning.
