"St. Pius X Catholic School is a special place; we are a diverse community that embraces and
lives out the Catholic faith in all we do. We are students, parents, staff, and parish who work
together to educate the whole child as well as strive for academic excellence. When one walks
into our school, you can’t help but notice the joy, hope, curiosity, and of course, faith in action."
- Mrs. Amy (Tharp) Georgitsis | Alumna, Alumni Parent

FAITH-BASED EDUCATION

First and foremost, our Roman Catholic faith is woven through the fabric of every school day - from daily prayer to religion classes to sacrament preparation. Students in first through eighth grade attend an all-school Mass each week, with each classroom participating in a Mass at least twice each year. Our students also attend Reconciliation sessions throughout the year. Our eighth grade students are designated the leaders of the student body and are encouraged to practice this leadership throughout the school year.

STUDENT FOCUS

With an average class size of 20 to 22 students, your child can expect to receive personal attention from his or her teacher. St. Pius offers two classes at most grade levels allowing your children to enjoy new friends each school year.

TECHNOLOGY

St. Pius X has a 1:1 technology initiative for each of its students. The school provides iPads for students in grades Kindergarten and Chromebooks are used in classrooms in grades 1-8.

LEARNING ASSISTANCE

For those students who have been assessed with a specific learning difficulty, we have both a Learning Resource teacher as well as a Social Worker on staff to provide assistance. We also contract with District 45 to help in giving our students the resources they need to succeed in the classroom.

EXTENDED CARE

St. Pius X Parish School is proud to offer our Extended Care Program to parents needing child care extending beyond our regular school hours. We offer both before and after care to any St. Pius student enrolled in preschool through eighth grade in our full-day program. Students in our half-day program may utilize the before care program.

Our daily schedule includes 40 minutes of play time (outside, weather permitting), snack time, 30 minutes of quiet study time followed by free time. Free time activities vary from day to day and include crafts, gym time, games, movies and/or computer time.
